Summary of the Role
The Radiology Assistant is an integral part of the radiology team, working under the supervision of radiologists and radiologic technologists to facilitate patient care and the smooth operation of the radiology department. This role involves assisting with patient preparation, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The radiology assistant contributes to enhancing patient experiences and outcomes by providing technical support and clerical assistance.

Knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS)
Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for radiographic examinations
Assist radiologists and technologists during procedures
Maintain and clean radiology equipment and examination rooms
Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout procedures
Manage the flow of patients and coordinate appointments
Ensure all radiology supplies are well-stocked and organized
Follow radiation safety procedures to protect patients and staff
Handle administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and patient documentation
Provide patients with information and instructions regarding procedures
