An experienced Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner is a specialized healthcare professional who provides advanced nursing care in emergency situations. Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) is advantageous.
Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in emergency medicine or a related acute care setting.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
Proven track record of adapting to high-stress situations and making critical decisions under pressure.
Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive emergency care.
Initiate appropriate diagnostic tests and interpret results to inform treatment plans.
Provide education and support to patients and their families during medical emergencies.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and document all treatment plans.
Manage emergency situations, including stabilizing critical patients, performing emergency procedures, and making time-sensitive decisions.
Participate in the development and implementation of new protocols and quality improvement processes within the emergency department.
Provide leadership and mentorship to less-experienced nurses and other healthcare staff.
