Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians in examining and treating animals
Perform laboratory tests, such as bloodwork, urinalysis, and x-rays
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments prescribed by veterinarians
Maintain medical records and prepare reports on the health status of animals
Educate pet owners on proper animal care and disease prevention
Sterilize instruments and ensure that examination rooms and equipment are clean and ready for use
Provide emergency first aid to sick or injured animals
Monitor animals under anesthesia and assist in surgical procedures
