Summary of the Role
The Healthcare IT Integration Specialist is responsible for the implementation, management, and support of integrated healthcare information systems to promote efficient and secure data access and interoperability across various health care applications. This role requires strong technical skills, a deep understanding of healthcare informatics, and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, HL7 standards, and other healthcare data exchange protocols.

Qualifications

Experience with EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems and interface engines such as Mirth Connect or Epic Bridges.
Knowledge of healthcare informatics and familiarity with medical terminology.
Understanding of data exchange protocols like HL7, FHIR, and DICOM.
Experience with programming languages such as SQL, JavaScript, or Python.
Certification in healthcare IT (e.g., CPHIMS, CAHIMS) is a plus.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain interfaces between different healthcare information systems.
Ensure data integrity and compliance with health information exchange standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand clinical processes and workflow to optimize the integration of various systems.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data integration and system interoperability.
Coordinate the upgrade and migration of healthcare applications to enhance system compatibility and functionality.
Document procedures, configurations, and training materials for end-users and IT staff.
Participate in the assessment and implementation of new healthcare information technology projects.
Support the security of healthcare information systems by following industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
