Summary of the Role
As a Perianesthesia Nurse, you will serve a critical role in the perioperative care of patients. This position requires providing preoperative and postoperative nursing care for patients undergoing anesthesia for surgery or other procedures. You will be instrumental in preparing patients for anesthesia, monitoring them during the procedure, and overseeing their recovery from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process. The ideal candidate should have solid clinical skills, a compassionate approach, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
2-5 years of experience in perianesthesia or critical care nursing.
Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) or Certified Ambulatory Peranesthesia Nurse (CAPA) certification preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
Assess patients' preoperative conditions and establish care plans based on medical history and surgical procedure.
Monitor patient vital signs and levels of consciousness during the perianesthesia phase.
Administer medications as directed and monitor for adverse reactions.
Provide postoperative care and instructions to patients and their families for home recovery.
Educate patients and their families on preoperative and postoperative care procedures.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Maintain accurate patient records and document all care provided.
Participate in continuous education to stay current with best practices in perianesthesia care.
Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Ensure the proper functioning and readiness of perianesthesia equipment.
