Summary of the Role
As a Senior Chemical Technician, you will work in laboratories or production facilities, applying your extensive technical knowledge and experience in chemistry to conduct experiments, analyze substances, and oversee laboratory operations. You will ensure the consistency and safety of chemical processes and products, collaborate with chemists and engineers, and mentor junior technicians. Your role is critical in maintaining high-quality standards in chemical manufacturing, research and development, and quality control.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Chemical Technician or in a similar role
Strong understanding of chemical processes and laboratory safety protocols
Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and analytical equipment
Experience in a supervisory role with a track record of successful team leadership
Familiarity with Quality Control and assurance standards relevant to the chemical industry
Background in data analysis and experience with relevant software applications
Responsibilities
Conduct complex chemical experiments, analyses, and research following established protocols
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning properly
Analyze data and contribute to scientific papers, reports, and documentation
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory processes
Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Collaborate with chemists, chemical engineers, and other professionals on projects and experiments
Oversee the inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals, and manage proper storage and disposal
Provide training, support, and supervision to junior chemical technicians
Innovate and improve upon chemical processes to enhance efficiency and safety
Contribute to ongoing professional development and keep abreast of advances in the field
