Summary of the Role
The School Social Worker will play a critical role in enhancing the academic performance and social development of students. Through collaboration with educators, students, and families, the worker will address various issues such as mental health, behavioral challenges, and home environment factors that impact student success.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) required
State certification/licensure in social work (LCSW or equivalent)
Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting
Knowledge of child development, academic and behavior interventions, and special education
Familiarity with federal, state, and local education laws and regulations
Strong understanding of, and ability to navigate, community resources and services
Responsibilities
Assess student needs and provide individual and group counseling
Develop and implement intervention strategies to improve students' emotional, social, and academic outcomes
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student welfare
Provide crisis intervention services as needed
Coordinate with external agencies to connect students and families with additional resources
Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to social work services and student progress
Conduct home visits to assess the home environment and engage with families
Facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff and parents on topics such as child development, mental health, and coping strategies
