Summary of the Role
The Agroforestry Expert will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing agroforestry projects. The role involves integrating trees, crops, and livestock in a sustainable farming system to enhance productivity and environmental outcomes. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of both agriculture and forestry principles and be adept at applying this knowledge to improve ecosystem services and rural livelihoods.

Qualifications

Experience with project management and coordination.
Familiarity with international development work and working in multicultural settings.
Responsibilities
Design and evaluate agroforestry systems and practices suited to specific ecological and social contexts.
Develop project proposals, including objectives, activities, budgets, and performance indicators.
Coordinate with farmers, communities, NGOs, and government agencies to implement agroforestry projects.
Provide technical guidance and training to project staff and local stakeholders.
Monitor and assess the impact of agroforestry interventions on biodiversity, soil health, and local economies.
Conduct research on agroforestry systems and disseminate findings through publications and presentations.
Promote the adoption of sustainable land management practices.
Assist with the integration of climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies into agroforestry projects.
