Summary of the Role
The Animal Health Inspector is responsible for ensuring the health, welfare, and humane treatment of animals in various settings, including farms, veterinary clinics, and animal shelters. The role involves conducting inspections, assessing animal health, investigating complaints, and enforcing regulations related to animal health and safety.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, or a related field
2-5 years of experience in animal health, veterinary services, or a regulatory role
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations concerning animal health and welfare
Certification or licensure as an Animal Health Inspector or equivalent may be required
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed for inspections
Responsibilities
Performing regular inspections of farms, animal shelters, and veterinary clinics to ensure compliance with animal health regulations
Investigating reports of animal abuse, neglect, or contagious diseases and taking appropriate actions
Collecting samples for laboratory testing to monitor and control the spread of animal diseases
Educating animal owners and the public on best practices for animal health and welfare
Preparing reports and maintaining records of inspections, findings, and actions taken
Collaborating with veterinarians, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to promote animal health and welfare
Enforcing quarantine measures when necessary to prevent disease outbreaks
Assisting in the development and revision of animal health policies and regulations
