Summary of the Role
A Senior Shipping Clerk is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily warehousing activities. They implement production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards and ensure the safe and efficient receipt, warehousing, and dispatch of goods.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years' experience in shipping, logistics or warehouse management
Proven experience as a Clerk or in another relevant role
Adept in the use of shipping software (e.g. Freightview, ShipStation)
Knowledge of legal requirements and procedures for shipping
Forklift certification and experience with warehousing machinery
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Physical stamina and the ability to lift 50 lbs or more
Responsibilities
Supervise and lead subordinates performing warehouse, inventory, and shipping tasks
Develop shipping schedules and allocate tasks to ensure targets are met
Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies
Monitor inventories of products or materials
Organize and maintain records of inventories, shipments and goods received
Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and invoices
Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing and other managers to optimize processes
Resolve issues regarding shipped orders
Ensure the workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards
Train new employees in job duties and company policies
Report on daily shipments and receipts
Implement continuous improvement principles to increase efficiency in shipping operations
