Summary of the Role
The Nursing Informatics Specialist is responsible for integrating nursing science with multiple information management and analytical sciences to identify, define, manage, and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in nursing practice. This role supports the health care facility in the implementation and optimization of electronic health record (EHR) systems, and ensures that healthcare professionals have access to the necessary electronic information to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

Understanding of health care processes and data structures.
Experience with project management and change management practices.
Responsibilities
Liaise between nursing staff and IT department to optimize EHR functionality.
Ensure data integrity and security within healthcare IT systems.
Participate in the development and evaluation of health informatics tools and processes.
Train and support clinical staff in the use of health informatics applications.
Work with clinical staff to understand their workflow and information needs.
Assess the impact of technology on nursing practice and patient care.
Provide input into the design and configuration of health informatics systems.
Conduct research and analysis to improve patient outcomes through better information management.
