Summary of the Role
A highly specialized position within radiology, the Interventional Radiologist is responsible for performing image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system. This role requires advanced medical knowledge, technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a medical team.

Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
Valid state medical license to practice interventional radiology.
Board certification in Radiology with subspecialty certification in Interventional Radiology.
Minimum of 5 years of experience post-residency or fellowship in interventional radiology.
Demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of interventional radiologic procedures.
Experience with advanced radiological equipment and technology.
Responsibilities
Perform image-guided, minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Consult with other physicians to discuss treatment plans and patient care.
Interpret diagnostic imaging studies including MRI, CT scans, ultrasound, and X-rays.
Collaborate with support staff to ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
Provide patient care before, during, and after procedures, including follow-up and management of complications.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives within the radiology department.
Stay current with advancements in interventional radiology and continuously improve technical skills.
