A Geriatric Nurse specializes in caring for aging and elderly patients, providing support and healthcare services geared towards the unique needs of the older population. As a Junior Geriatric Nurse, the candidate will work under the supervision of senior nurses and healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate and effective care to seniors, helping to manage chronic illnesses, prevent disease, and promote overall wellness.

Qualifications
Active nursing license in the state of practice.

Responsibilities
Provide basic nursing care to elderly patients, including bathing, feeding, and assisting with mobility.
Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to the supervising nurse or physician.
Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with treatment plans.
Educate patients and their families on health maintenance and disease prevention.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Assist with diagnostic tests and the interpretation of results.
Provide emotional support to patients and their families, helping them to cope with the challenges of aging.
Ensure the safety and well-being of patients by adhering to facility policies and procedures.
Participate in continuing education to stay current with geriatric nursing practices and advancements.
