Summary of the Role
The Public Health Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing high-quality primary care services with a strong emphasis on disease prevention, health promotion, and health education within the community. Working in public health clinics, community health centers, schools, and other community-based settings, this role requires a strong background in clinical nursing practices as well as expertise in public health principles.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on public health or a related field.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of practice.
2-5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a public health or community setting.
Experience with program development and health education.
Knowledge of epidemiology and infectious disease control.
Responsibilities
Conduct health assessments and provide direct care to patients in community settings.
Develop and implement health education programs to promote wellness and disease prevention.
Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to identify public health concerns and develop strategies to address them.
Participate in research activities related to public health and epidemiology.
Provide guidance and training to nursing staff and community health workers.
Monitor trends in community health and respond to health crises as needed.
Advocate for policies and programs that improve public health outcomes.
Manage immunization programs and conduct screenings for communicable diseases.
