Summary of the Role
The School Nurse Practitioner is a specialized role aimed at providing healthcare services within an educational environment. The individual will work closely with students, staff, and parents to manage and treat minor illnesses and injuries, promote health education, and contribute to a healthy school community.

Qualifications
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the applicable state.
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program.
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a specialization in pediatrics, family practice, or public health.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Experience in a school or pediatric healthcare setting preferred.
Clear understanding of and ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations related to school health services.
Responsibilities
Provide primary health care services to students and staff, including diagnosis and treatment of common acute illnesses and injuries.
Develop and implement health plans for students with chronic illnesses.
Conduct health screenings and referrals for conditions such as vision, hearing, and scoliosis.
Collaborate with school counselors and other staff to address students' physical, mental, and social health needs.
Administer medications and vaccinations per school district policies.
Promote health education by creating and conducting presentations on topics such as nutrition, exercise, and disease prevention.
Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in accordance with legal requirements.
Participate in the development and enforcement of health policies within the school.
