Summary of the Role
The Government Affairs Specialist will be responsible for managing and overseeing the organization's interactions with government agencies, officials, and regulators. They will serve as a liaison between the organization and government entities, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, advocating for the company's interests, and keeping abreast of political developments that may affect the organization.

Strong understanding of the sector or industry the organization operates within.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
Monitor legislative and regulatory activities and analyze their impact on the organization.
Develop and maintain relationships with government officials, agencies, and other external stakeholders.
Coordinate the organization's response to legislative and regulatory proposals.
Prepare and present reports on government affairs to senior management.
Assist in the development of strategies to advocate for the organization's positions on policies and regulations.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations concerning lobbying and government interactions.
Participate in meetings, hearings, and industry events to represent the organization's interests.
Advise and collaborate with internal departments on public policy matters.
Manage government affairs projects and initiatives as needed.
