Summary of the Role
A Senior Clinical Data Analyst is responsible for the collection, coordination, and analysis of patient data to improve patient care, track healthcare trends, and support public health initiatives. They are required to leverage advanced data analysis skills to interpret complex healthcare data and translate findings into actionable insights for healthcare providers.
Required Skills
Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience with SQL databases and database querying languages.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to use statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business reports.
Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.
Proficiency in the use of statistical packages such as R, Python, SQL, SAS, Excel, etc.
Strong reporting skills with the ability to present findings in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Bioinformatics, Statistics, Health Informatics, Computer Science).
Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst, specifically in the healthcare sector.
Strong knowledge of and experience with databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc).
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Familiarity with data protection regulations and patient privacy laws.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize patient outcomes, revenue generation, targeting and other business outcomes.
Create appropriate documentation for data management systems and processes.
Ensure compliance with data governance and data management protocols in the healthcare industry.
