Summary of the Role
As a Senior Automotive Safety Engineer, you will be at the forefront of vehicle safety design, testing and analysis. You'll work on integrating safety into all stages of vehicle development to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You'll apply your extensive experience to innovate and improve vehicle safety features, mitigate risks, and contribute to the evolution of active and passive safety systems.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or relevant field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive safety engineering
In-depth knowledge of vehicle safety systems and standards (e.g., FMVSS, NCAP)
Proven track record in designing and executing vehicle crash tests
Experience with safety simulation software (e.g., LS-DYNA, MADYMO)
Familiarity with data acquisition systems and crash data analysis
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Responsibilities
Lead safety feature development projects from conception to implementation
Design and perform vehicle safety testing protocols and analyze results
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into vehicle design
Stay updated with and ensure compliance to federal and international safety regulations
Investigate vehicle accidents to identify safety performance issues and improve future designs
Develop and validate computational models for crash simulation
Review and provide input on safety-related aspects of supplier components
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
Prepare technical reports and present findings to management and stakeholders
