Summary of the Role
An IP Paralegal is a specialized legal assistant who works with intellectual property lawyers to manage patent and trademark caseloads, prepare legal documents, conduct research, and perform administrative tasks related to intellectual property law.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other related software.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program preferred.
Minimum of 2 years experience as a paralegal, with specific experience in intellectual property preferred.
Familiarity with USPTO procedures and electronic filing systems.
Understanding of intellectual property laws and procedures.
Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation and filing of patent and trademark applications.
Conduct prior art searches and assist in intellectual property investigations.
Maintain patent and trademark databases and manage case files.
Correspond with clients and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Draft legal correspondence and documentation under the supervision of IP attorneys.
Review and analyze legal materials, and assist with IP litigations.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all IP deadlines.
Prepare reports for attorneys on the status of patents or trademarks.
