Summary of the Role
As a Cybersecurity Advisor, you will play a critical role in protecting the organization's information systems by understanding the current threat landscape, advising on best security practices, and helping to develop and implement strategic security plans. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that our company's data and infrastructure are safeguarded against cyber threats.
Required Skills
Proficiency in security technologies such as firewalls, anti-virus software, patch management systems, and encryption.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to a non-technical audience.
Experience with security incident management and response.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
2-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or a related role.
Professional security certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent are preferred.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and others.
Knowledge of current cybersecurity threats, hacking techniques, and the cybersecurity landscape.
Responsibilities
Evaluate current cybersecurity measures and recommend enhancements to ensure robust security protocols.
Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify potential vulnerabilities.
Advise management on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices.
Contribute to the development and implementation of organization-wide cybersecurity strategies and policies.
Collaborate with IT and other departments to establish and maintain secure network architectures.
Provide guidance and training to staff on cybersecurity awareness and preventative measures.
Assist in incident response planning and participate in the handling of security breaches.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards relating to cybersecurity and data protection.
