Summary of the Role
As an Infection Control Nurse, you will play a critical role in preventing the spread of infectious diseases within healthcare facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and implement infection prevention strategies, conduct surveillance, and provide education to staff, patients, and visitors on best practices.

Experience with electronic health records and surveillance systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in nursing or related health field required.
Active RN license and current registration.
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience with a focus on infection prevention.
Experience in a hospital or acute care setting is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Train healthcare staff on proper infection prevention techniques and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Monitor patients and healthcare staff for signs of infection and report any instances promptly to the appropriate department.
Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
Collaborate with the epidemiology and public health departments to track infection trends and outbreaks.
Educate patients and their families on how to prevent infections, especially after discharge.
Prepare reports on infection control activities and outcomes for hospital administration.
