Responsibilities
Oversee the daily care and maintenance of animals within the facility, ensuring they are healthy and their habitats are suitable.
Lead conservation and breeding programs, coordinating with researchers and other zoos.
Train and supervise junior staff members in proper zoo-keeping techniques and procedures.
Manage the design and renovation of animal habitats to ensure they meet the highest standards of animal welfare.
Liaise with veterinary professionals to administer healthcare and contribute to dietary plans.
Implement emergency procedures for animal escapes or natural disasters.
Conduct educational sessions and presentations for zoo visitors to raise awareness about animal conservation.
Record detailed observations about animal behavior and health, and maintain accurate records.
Participate in research initiatives and collaborate with external organizations for wildlife conservation.
Ensure all zoo activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
