Summary of the Role
The Zoo Registrar is responsible for maintaining accurate records of the zoo's animal collection, including acquisition, disposition, and loans of animals. This role ensures that all animal records are compliant with zoo policies, state and federal regulations, and international laws and treaties concerning wildlife.

Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in biology, zoology, wildlife management, or a related field.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with database software and standard office applications.
Responsibilities
Maintain up-to-date records of the zoo's animal inventory.
Ensure accurate data entry and management of the zoological database.
Prepare and manage permits and legal documentation for animal acquisitions, transfers, and loans.
Coordinate with zookeepers, veterinarians, and other staff to ensure records reflect current information.
Assist with audits and inventory checks to verify the accuracy of animal records.
Maintain knowledge of state and federal wildlife regulations, CITES permits, and other relevant legislation.
Support the zoo's involvement in Species Survival Plans and other conservation programs.
Handle inquiries and data requests from internal and external stakeholders.
