Summary of the Role
As a Water Distribution Operator, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water distribution system, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of water to the community. This role requires a strong understanding of hydraulic systems, monitoring equipment, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary training in a related field is preferred.
Valid Water Distribution Operator certification, as required by local or national regulations.
At least 2 years of experience in water distribution or a closely related field.
Proficiency in using tools and equipment necessary for water system maintenance and repair.
Ability to interpret technical documents, such as system maps, blueprints, and operation manuals.
Responsibilities
Operate and monitor the performance of pumps, valves, and other distribution equipment to ensure continuous water supply.
Perform routine maintenance, repair leaks, and manage water pressure throughout the distribution network.
Conduct regular water quality testing and adjust treatment processes as necessary to meet health and safety standards.
Respond to customer inquiries and complaints regarding water supply and pressure issues.
Coordinate with other utility departments and external contractors for system upgrades and emergency repairs.
Maintain accurate logs and records of water distribution operations, including meter readings and maintenance activities.
Participate in emergency response drills and actual events to ensure uninterrupted water service.
