Summary of the Role
The Chemical Regulations Director is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of policies and procedures regarding the use, handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of chemical properties, health and safety standards, and environmental laws.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory affairs or compliance, specifically in the chemical industry.
Proven track record of managing chemical regulations and ensuring company compliance.
Experience with risk assessment and management concerning hazardous materials.
Strong understanding of global chemical legislation, such as REACH, TSCA, GHS, and others.
Excellent leadership and project management skills.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all regulatory requirements pertaining to chemicals and hazardous materials.
Lead the strategy for compliance with chemical regulations and standards at the local, national, and international level.
Collaborate with research and development teams to ensure that new products meet all regulatory requirements.
Establish and oversee the implementation of safety protocols for the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Manage the preparation and submission of all required regulatory documents and reports.
Train and lead a team of regulatory professionals, ensuring they are aware of and adhere to all chemical regulations and practices.
Stay abreast of new legislation and amendments to existing laws that may affect the company's operations.
Advocate for the company's interests in discussions with regulatory authorities and industry groups.
Lead internal audits and risk assessments related to chemical management and regulatory compliance.
