Summary of the Role
The Editor-in-Chief is the top editor and is responsible for managing the overall editorial agenda, leading the editorial team, and ensuring the quality of all publications. Minimum of 5 years in a senior editorial leadership role, preferably as an Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor.
Proven experience in developing editorial strategies and managing an editorial team.
Strong understanding of the publication's subject matter and target audience.
Experience working with print, digital and multimedia content.
Familiarity with content management systems and digital analytics tools.
Strong legal and ethical understanding of the publishing industry.
Responsibilities
Design and implement the editorial strategy and vision in alignment with the publication's goals.
Lead, mentor, and manage the editorial team including editors, writers, and contributors.
Ensure editorial consistency and maintain the highest standards of accuracy and quality in all content.
Stay abreast of industry trends and news to guide the publication's direction.
Collaborate with other departments such as marketing and sales to align content strategies with business objectives.
Oversee the editorial calendar and ensure timely publication of content.
Represent the publication at events, on panels, and in media appearances.
Make final decisions on all content, including features, stories, and multimedia elements.
Foster relationships with writers, thought leaders, and influencers in the field.
Address and resolve any ethical, legal, or editorial issues that arise.
