Strong knowledge of nuclear physics, reactor dynamics, and thermodynamics.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a set timeframe.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and guidelines, such as those set by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of nuclear reactor projects, including conceptualization, planning, and execution.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of nuclear reactors, implementing improvements to enhance safety and efficiency.
Develop and maintain safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Conduct research on new materials and technologies to optimize reactor performance and minimize environmental impact.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and other experts to solve complex problems.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Respond to emergencies and incidents, leading investigation efforts and recommending corrective actions.
