We are seeking a seasoned Chemical Inspection Officer with over five years of experience in chemical management, regulatory compliance, and safety inspections. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals within the facility, maintaining adherence to environmental and safety standards, conducting regular inspections, and providing guidance on best practices in chemical use.

Qualifications

Certification in Hazardous Materials Management (CHMM) or a related certification is highly desirable.
Extensive knowledge of chemical safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
Familiarity with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).
Proven ability to analyze and interpret chemical data and safety information.
Responsibilities
Conduct detailed chemical safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Develop and implement chemical management plans and risk assessment protocols.
Train staff on proper chemical handling and emergency response procedures.
Investigate incidents involving chemical releases or exposures and propose corrective actions.
Maintain comprehensive records of chemical inventories, safety data sheets, and inspection reports.
Collaborate with environmental health and safety teams to establish safety protocols.
Advise management on the procurement of chemical substances and the implementation of safe storage solutions.
Stay abreast of industry trends, new legislation, and advancements in chemical safety and inspection techniques.
