Summary of the Role
As a Junior Emergency Management Director, you will assist in planning and directing disaster response or crisis management activities, provide disaster preparedness training, and prepare emergency plans and procedures for natural (e.g., hurricanes, floods, earthquakes), wartime, or technological (e.g., nuclear power plant emergencies or hazardous materials spills) disasters. You will support senior directors in ensuring that emergency management systems are in place to respond to potential emergencies effectively and work to increase the emergency preparedness of our organization.

Bachelor's degree in emergency management, public safety, or related field.
Ability to obtain necessary certifications, such as Emergency Management, HAZWOPER, etc.
Understanding of the principles and practices of emergency management.
Proficiency in using emergency management software and incident command systems.
Basic knowledge of local, state, and federal emergency management protocols and communication systems.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
Coordinate with other emergency management officials and first responders.
Conduct training exercises with staff to evaluate the effectiveness of emergency plans and procedures.
Update and maintain emergency preparedness plans.
Assist in coordinating resources and responses in the event of an emergency.
Support public education campaigns to increase awareness about emergency preparedness.
Help to assess potential risks and plan accordingly.
Maintain clear and accurate records of emergency procedures and responses.
Monitor emergency management processes and propose improvements.
