Qualifications
Master's Certificate of Competency (Unlimited) or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a cruise ship officer or equivalent maritime role
Thorough knowledge of SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, and other relevant maritime regulations
Medical fitness certificate compliant with maritime regulations
Strong leadership and team management skills
Experience in navigation and ship handling in a variety of conditions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to make decisions under pressure and handle emergencies effectively
Responsibilities
Captain the ship and make decisions concerning navigation, weather, and safety
Ensure compliance with all international maritime laws and regulations
Supervise the activities of deck officers and crew
Oversee the boarding and disembarkation of passengers
Conduct regular safety drills and ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained
Manage ship communications and coordinate with the home office, port authorities, and other ships
Monitor the ship's performance and mechanical status to ensure safety and efficiency
Provide leadership and maintain crew discipline and morale
Host certain social events for passengers and attend to their needs regarding comfort and experience
