Summary of the Role
As a Hazardous Waste Technician at our facility, you will be responsible for the safe handling, treatment, and disposal of hazardous materials. Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in hazardous waste management or a related field.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous materials and waste.
Certification in hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER).
Ability to wear and use appropriate protective gear, including respirators and other safety equipment.
Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and containers.
Experience in handling, storage, and disposal of various types of hazardous waste.
Responsibilities
Collect and transport hazardous waste within and outside of the facility following all safety guidelines.
Identify, label, and sort hazardous waste materials for processing and disposal.
Operate equipment for treating, storing, or disposing of hazardous materials.
Maintain accurate records of waste handling activities and ensure proper documentation.
Inspect hazardous waste storage areas regularly for compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Coordinate with management and other staff to implement hazardous waste disposal projects.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure proper emergency procedures are in place.
Stay informed about relevant environmental and safety regulations and ensure compliance in all operations.
