Summary of the Role
As a Sustainable Design Architect, you will be at the forefront of environmentally responsible and resource-efficient building designs. The role involves conception and development of innovative architectural solutions that aim to reduce the ecological footprint of structures from inception through to construction and operation.
Required Skills
Proficiency in sustainable design and architecture software such as Autodesk Revit, SketchUp, and Rhino.
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think creatively and critically to overcome challenges with sustainable design.
Strong project management skills to lead and coordinate multiple projects.
Solid understanding of building codes, standards, and building structures.
Aptitude for teamwork, collaboration, and leadership within project teams.
Qualifications
Professional degree in Architecture, with a focus on sustainable or environmental design.
Minimum of 5 years of professional architectural experience, including a significant focus on sustainable design.
Licensed to practice architecture in the relevant jurisdiction.
Proven experience with green building certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, or WELL.
Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in sustainable design and completed projects.
Understanding of energy modeling, lifecycle assessment, and environmental impact analysis.
Responsibilities

Collaborate with clients, engineers, and building scientists to develop integrated sustainable design strategies.
Utilize cutting-edge technology and practices to create eco-friendly and energy-efficient building designs.

Present design ideas and reports clearly to clients, public agencies, and project teams.
Ensure compliance with all applicable sustainability standards and certifications.
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, materials, technologies, and sustainability standards.
