Summary of the Role
A Grid Operator, also known as a Power System Operator or Control Room Operator, is responsible for monitoring and controlling the electric power system to ensure a safe and reliable supply of electricity to meet customer demands. This role involves real-time management of the power grid, including balancing supply with demand, maintaining system stability, and coordinating with maintenance personnel and regional partners to manage the flow of electricity.

Certification from the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) or equivalent may be required.
Ability to work in high-pressure situations and make quick, informed decisions.
