Summary of the Role
A Border Patrol Agent is responsible for securing the nation's borders from illegal entry, smuggling, and any activities that may threaten national security. This entry-level position involves patrolling and monitoring border areas, identifying and apprehending unauthorized individuals, and ensuring compliance with immigration and customs regulations. Applicants must be prepared to work in diverse and potentially hazardous environments and maintain high ethical and professional standards at all times.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent; additional education or military experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
Patrol border areas by vehicle, boat, or on foot to detect and prevent illegal crossings and activities.
Observe and monitor border surveillance systems, including cameras and motion detectors.
Apprehend and process individuals attempting to enter the country illegally.
Prepare and complete the necessary documentation for each case handled, including incident reports and detainee processing.
Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies, such as local police, immigration officers, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Assist in humanitarian duties, such as providing aid to injured or distressed individuals encountered during patrol.
Participate in ongoing training programs to maintain physical fitness, firearms proficiency, and up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations.
