Summary of the Role
The Deckhand role involves performing a variety of tasks on deck under the direction of the captain or a mate aboard vessels. This role requires proficiency in a range of maritime tasks, including navigation, safety procedures, maintenance, and other duties to ensure smooth operations on board.

Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years' experience as a deckhand or in a similar maritime role.
Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Proficient understanding of maritime safety regulations.
Capable of passing a physical examination and a drug screening test.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and during irregular hours.
Basic First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
Experience in handling deck equipment such as winches, cranes, and ropes.
Responsibilities
Maintenance of the vessel's deck equipment and structures.
Assistance with the navigation and steering of the vessel when required.
Performing lookout duties to ensure the safety of the vessel.
Assisting in docking, anchoring, and mooring operations.
Handling lines, chains, and winches during cargo loading and unloading.
Conducting regular safety checks and drills.
Adhering to all maritime safety regulations.
Collaborating with other crew members to manage daily deck operations.
Reporting any issues or hazards to the captain or officers immediately.
