Summary of the Role

With over five years of experience in the field, you will serve as an expert in evaluating food processing facilities, restaurants, and other establishments that handle food, ensuring all safety and quality standards are met. Your in-depth knowledge of food safety regulation will be critical in maintaining public health and consumer protection.

Qualifications

Certification from a recognized food safety inspection program, such as the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification or equivalent
Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP and FDA/USDA guidelines
Proven ability to interpret and enforce regulations in a firm but fair manner
Experience with laboratory testing procedures and interpreting test results
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various inspection sites as required
Responsibilities

Investigate complaints and reports of potential food safety violations and take appropriate enforcement actions.

Prepare detailed reports and maintain records of inspections, findings, and actions taken.
Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies to coordinate food safety efforts and respond to public health emergencies.
Spearhead initiatives to improve food safety policies based on evolving industry practices and scientific advancements.
