Summary of the Role
An EEO Specialist, short for Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist, plays an integral role in ensuring that employment practices are fair, non-discriminatory, and compliant with laws and regulations. This position involves developing, implementing, and monitoring programs that promote diversity within a company. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
5+ years of experience in an EEO, diversity and inclusion, or related role
Expert knowledge of EEO laws and regulations such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADA, ADEA, and EEOC guidelines
Experience conducting investigations related to discrimination complaints
Proven track record of developing and implementing EEO policies and initiatives
Responsibilities
Develop and implement equal employment opportunity (EEO) policies and programs
Conduct analysis of organizational employment practices to identify potential areas of discrimination
Investigate employment discrimination complaints and prepare reports with findings and recommendations
Provide training and guidance to management and staff regarding EEO regulations and diversity initiatives
Collaborate with human resources to ensure that recruitment and hiring practices are nondiscriminatory
Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local EEO laws and regulations
Prepare and submit required compliance reports to governmental agencies
Act as a liaison between employee representatives, management, and external agencies regarding EEO matters
