Summary of the Role
As a Stormwater Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of structures and facilities that manage stormwater. This role involves applying engineering principles to solve complex problems related to water quality and quantity, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create sustainable and effective stormwater management systems.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
Experience in stormwater management, hydrology, and hydraulics.
Proficiency with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or SWMM.
Knowledge of stormwater regulations, permitting, and reporting requirements.
Familiarity with GIS and AutoCAD or similar design software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Understanding of sustainable design and green infrastructure practices.
Responsibilities
Analyze rainfall and stormwater runoff data to design effective stormwater management systems.
Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for stormwater conveyance systems, including culverts, channels, and detention facilities.
Prepare stormwater management plans and reports in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil engineers, urban planners, and landscape architects, to integrate stormwater management solutions into various projects.
Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with stormwater management specifications and standards.
Implement best management practices (BMPs) for erosion and sediment control.
Conduct field investigations to assess and mitigate the impacts of flooding and water pollution.
Provide technical support during the construction phase of stormwater infrastructure projects.
Review and approve designs and plans submitted by consulting engineers.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in stormwater management technologies and regulatory requirements.
