Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited institution and completion of a general surgery residency
Valid medical license to practice surgery
2 to 5 years of experience in a surgical environment
Board certification in general surgery or a surgical subspecialty is preferred
Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
Responsibilities
Perform surgical procedures with precision and according to established protocols
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan, conduct, and evaluate surgical interventions
Ensure that patients are properly informed about surgical procedures and associated risks
Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control practices before, during, and after surgery
Participate in ongoing training to stay current with the latest surgical techniques and medical discoveries
Document all surgical procedures and patient interactions accurately in accordance with hospital policy
Provide post-operative care and instructions to patients for optimal recovery
Assist in the emergency room as required, providing urgent surgical care in critical situations
