Summary of the Role
As a Senior Transit Planner, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive transit system plans, including analyzing current transit operations, forecasting future needs, and devising strategic solutions to enhance public transportation services. You will lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and community groups to ensure that transit projects are effectively integrated into urban development plans and satisfy the community's transportation needs.

Responsibilities
Lead transit planning projects from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder engagement.
Analyze demographic and ridership data to identify trends and make recommendations for service enhancements.
Develop and manage comprehensive transit system design, including route planning, service frequency, and intermodal connectivity.
Conduct environmental and community impact assessments for new transit projects.
Coordinate with local, regional, and state authorities to ensure compliance with transportation regulations and policies.
Facilitate public outreach efforts to gather input and communicate the benefits of transit projects.
Prepare grant proposals to secure funding for transit initiatives and improvements.
Mentor junior planners and contribute to their professional development.
